For starters, I just want to say that I am so grateful to have found this beauty community because without it I would’ve never had the pleasure to meet such sweet girls like Marie.
We got to chatting through email and then through texting and got to know each other a bit, I learned that not only does she have fabulous taste in cosmetics but she is also very sweet, funny, and so down to earth…oh… AND we share our birthdays on the same month (we are also the same age!).
So originally we were only doing a swap for one item and it slowly progressed into a full birthday swap! I had never done any kind of swap before but I had heard many good and not so good stories about them. Still, I didn’t feel nervous about it, I actually had a lot of fun shopping for Marie. As we got to know each other better, I won’t lie, I found myself exchanging some of the items that I had originally purchased because I wanted to surprise her with things that she would actually use and love.
Yes…the entire swap was a surprise for both of us so I felt like a kid on Christmas when I received my package. As I opened the beautifully wrapped gift all I had to say was WOW! She went above and beyond anything I could’ve imagined. Marie completely spoiled me and as a result I’ll never be able to do swaps again! lol jk…. but seriously…
I had enough time to use every single thing that she got me and I can say without a doubt that I LOVE everything! I’m totally a blush and lipstick girl and the colors that she picked out are just stunning and so perfect for the season.
So nice to do something like this. Glad it was successful! 🙂
