If Opal And Whispers of Gilt Had A Baby

While I was filming I decided to give this new BB Plus Illumination Facial Cream by Gerard Cosmetics a try.

I was about to slather it allover my face like an ordinary face creme but a little voice inside me told me to swatch it on my hand first. I’m glad I listened because I discovered that this is more of a highlighter than a typical BB creme. You could certainly add a tiny drop to your foundation to give your skin an all over illuminating effect, or apply a thin layer underneath your foundation but I found it works beautifully as a highlighter.

As I was vainly admiring the gorgeous glow I kept thinking it reminded me of something that I already had in my collection, so I took all my highlighters out and had as swatch party. At last! I was able to pin point what it resembled.

If the highlighters, Opal from Becca Cosmetics and Whispers of Gilt (Limited Edition) from Mac, had a baby; this is exactly what she would look like!

Of course, unlike the other 2 highlighters, BB Plus is liquid which is fine by me because I’ve been applying Opal wet anyways 🙂

I know in the photo it appears to be more in the rose family but when the light catches it in different angles it has a hue of gold in it that is absolutely stunning, you just have to see it for yourself. You can get a very dramatic highlight as well since it builds up very nicely.

What’s cool about these lip glosses is that they light up. I know it sounds like a novelty but, trust me, it is extremely practical. I keep the nude in my bag at all times and I can’t tell you how many times the light has come in handy, especially in the car at night when hubby complains about me turning the visor light on.
